This Privacy Policy explains how APPRAISEITNOW INC. collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you visit our website, request an appraisal, or otherwise work with us.

1. Who We Are

APPRAISEITNOW INC. ("AppraiseItNow," "we," "our," or "us") connects clients who need a professional appraisal with qualified, independent appraisers across the United States. This policy applies to www.appraiseitnow.com and to the appraisal services we arrange through it.

By using our website or submitting a request through it, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or submit information to us.

2. Information We Collect

Information you give us. When you request an appraisal or contact us, we collect the details you enter, which typically include:

  • Your name, email address, and phone number.
  • What you would like appraised and the purpose of the appraisal.
  • Any additional details about the property, your timeline, or your situation that you choose to share with us by form, email, phone, or text.

Information we collect automatically. When you browse the site, we and our analytics providers may collect standard technical information, including your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view, and the dates and times of those visits. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies described in Section 6.

Information we do not ask for. We do not request Social Security numbers, bank account or payment card numbers, or government identification through our website forms. Please do not send that information to us unsolicited.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your request and prepare a quote for the appraisal you asked about.
  • Match your request with an appraiser qualified for that property type, purpose, and location.
  • Deliver, support, and follow up on the appraisal services you engage us for.
  • Communicate with you about your request, including by email, phone, or text message.
  • Operate, secure, and improve our website and our services, and understand which pages and sources bring people to us.
  • Comply with our legal, tax, and professional obligations, and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.

4. How and Why We Contact You

We only contact people who have contacted us first, or the appraisers and vendors we engage to carry out work. We do not conduct outreach, prospecting, or cold email. We have never purchased, rented, or otherwise acquired contact lists, and we do not add anyone to a mailing list.

Our messages fall into two categories: replies to a request you sent us, and correspondence about an appraisal that is underway, including quotes, document requests, scheduling, invoices, and delivery of completed reports. These are sent individually, not as campaigns.

If you ask us to stop contacting you, we remove your address from further messages within one business day. If a message to you is rejected or bounces, we stop sending to that address.

5. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only in the circumstances below.

  • With appraisers. To arrange your appraisal, we share the details of your request with the independent appraiser or appraisal firm assigned to it. Those appraisers are engaged to perform the work you requested and are expected to keep your information confidential.
  • With service providers. We use third parties to run our business, including customer relationship management, email and messaging, workflow automation, website hosting, and analytics providers. They may process your information on our behalf and only for the purposes we direct.
  • For legal reasons. We may disclose information where we believe in good faith that it is required by law, subpoena, or court order, or where it is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of AppraiseItNow, our clients, our appraisers, or the public.
  • In a business transfer. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working properly, to measure how it is used, and to understand the effectiveness of our advertising. The tools we currently use include:

  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, to measure site traffic and how visitors move through our pages.
  • Meta Pixel, to measure and improve advertising we run on Meta platforms.
  • PostHog, to understand product usage, how our forms perform, and to record sessions as described below.
  • Ahrefs Analytics, to measure how people find our pages through search.

Session recording. We record how visitors interact with our website so we can find and fix problems, such as a form that fails to submit. These recordings capture page views, clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement. They do not capture what you type. Everything you enter into a form, including your name, email address, and phone number, is masked before the recording leaves your browser, so we never see it in a recording. We do not record your screen outside our website, and we do not use these recordings to identify you personally. If you would prefer not to be recorded, most ad and tracker blocking browser extensions will prevent it, and you can ask us to delete recordings associated with you using the contact details in Section 12.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do. You can opt out of Google Analytics specifically using the browser add-on Google provides at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Our site does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals, because no common standard for honoring them exists.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You can:

  • Ask us what personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
  • Ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep.
  • Withdraw your request or ask us to stop contacting you at any time.

We do not run email marketing campaigns. Every message we send relates to an appraisal you asked us about or an engagement already in progress. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time and we will honor it within one business day. You can reply STOP to any text message to stop receiving texts from us. We will still contact you about an appraisal that is already underway unless you tell us to stop entirely.

Depending on where you live, state privacy laws may give you additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion or correction, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, contact us using Section 12 below. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time frame the applicable law requires.

8. How Long We Keep Information

We keep your information for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, including to service your appraisal, to keep records of the work performed, and to meet our legal, tax, and professional obligations. Appraisal reports and their supporting records are retained for the period required by the professional standards that apply to the assignment. When we no longer need information, we delete it or de-identify it.

9. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we hold, including encryption of our website traffic and access controls on the systems that store client records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive information to us by unencrypted email.

10. Children’s Privacy

Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Other Websites and Changes to This Policy

Our site links to websites we do not operate. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.

Our services are offered in the United States, and the information we collect is processed there.

We may update this policy as our services or the law change. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above. Material changes will be posted on this page. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
