Why we exist

Built to Take the Call

Clients need an appraisal at the worst possible time, and most appraisal companies cannot take the call. Nobody orders an appraisal for fun. It is an estate to settle, a Form 8283 to file, an insurance claim, a divorce, a loan closing, and usually a date somebody else set. The local appraiser a client finds tends to specialize in one narrow kind of asset, or is booked out for weeks, or both. AppraiseItNow was built to be the company that can take the call. Our model is technology-led and built to scale: one team that covers every asset class, one flat fee quoted before any work starts, a credentialed specialist for the asset rather than for the zip code, and a review process that lets us answer fast and meet any deadline a client is working to.

  1. 01

You reach us in a time of need

An estate to settle, a tax filing due, a claim to file, a court date on the calendar. We answer by phone, email, and text, and answering fast is the thing clients mention most in their reviews.

  2. 02

A flat fee and a timeline, agreed up front

We confirm the fee and the delivery date before any work starts, so the deadline you are working to is the one we commit to.

  3. 03

The specialist for that asset, wherever you are

Fine art, machinery, vehicles, or a business interest: our team covers every asset class, so the appraiser on your report is the one whose credential matches the asset, not whoever happens to be nearby. Inspection is online or on site.

  4. 04

    Delivered to the deadline

Our structure lets us expedite when a filing or a hearing is close. The signed, USPAP-compliant report is written to the standard the IRS, the court, the insurer, or the lender requires.

Credentialed byEvery report follows USPAP unless the engagement calls for another standard. Each of our appraisers holds the designations for their own discipline: some carry one of these credentials, others carry different ones, and no single appraiser holds all of them. Your report is signed by the appraiser whose credential fits the asset, and it states that credential.

Our story

AppraiseItNow Is Owned and Run by Joe Kattan

Getting a professional appraisal used to mean calling around to whichever local experts you could find, waiting on a quote nobody would put in writing, and having no idea when the report would land. AppraiseItNow was founded to take all three problems off the table: appraisers who specialize by asset class, a flat fee quoted before any work starts, and a timeline agreed at the beginning rather than explained at the end.

Joe Kattan, a former Bain & Company consultant, owns and runs the company. Under his ownership we have grown several times over and widened the assets we cover to include fine art, complex machinery and equipment, and business interests. Our appraisers specialize by asset class rather than by geography, so whichever state a client is in, the appraiser on the report is the one whose credential and experience match the asset, and the report carries their signature and our review.

Standards

Every AppraiseItNow Report Is USPAP-Compliant, Qualified for IRS Filings, and Signed by a Credentialed Appraiser

Credentialed appraisers

Our appraisers hold credentials with the ASA, ISA, AAA, CAGA, NACVA, and the NEBB Institute, and the team covers every asset class we appraise: fine art, personal property, machinery and equipment, vehicles, and business interests. Your report is prepared by the specialist for that asset.

What clients say about our appraisers

Our appraisal engagements also carry professional liability (errors and omissions) coverage. Ask us for the certificate if your counsel or your lender needs it on file.

Frequently Asked Questions About AppraiseItNow

The Company

Who owns AppraiseItNow?

Joe Kattan, a former Bain & Company consultant, owns and runs the company. Under his ownership AppraiseItNow has grown several times over and widened the assets it covers to include fine art, complex machinery and equipment, and business interests, with a specialist appraiser for each asset class.

Why was AppraiseItNow founded?

To fix three things about getting an appraisal: finding the right expert, getting a fee in writing, and knowing when the report will arrive. It used to mean calling around to whichever local appraisers you could find, waiting on a quote nobody would commit to, and having no idea of the timeline. We answer with appraisers who specialize by asset class, a flat fee quoted before any work starts, and a delivery date agreed at the beginning.

How We Work

Are the appraisers employees or independent specialists?

Both. Our own credentialed specialists cover the core asset classes, and independent experts with advanced or niche specialties join the network where an asset calls for them. Every professional in the network has passed our vetting for the asset type and the intended use, and every report carries the appraiser's signature and our review before it goes out.

Does AppraiseItNow carry professional liability insurance?

Yes. Our appraisal engagements carry professional liability (errors and omissions) coverage. If your counsel, your lender, or an institution needs the certificate on file, ask us and we will send it.
