Oregon taxes estates above a $1 million filing threshold at graduated rates of roughly 10% to 16%, far below the federal exemption, so a meaningful art collection can push an otherwise modest Oregon estate into filing territory. Date-of-death fair market value appraisals document what the collection actually contributes.
