  • 10 Stars!! Joe was a pleasure to work with. Answered all my questions with incredible patience. Payment was swift and they got started immediately and the turn around time was much sooner than I expected. (I was on a time crunch and they got it done for me incredibly fast!) And the best part was the appraisal was even more than what I was expecting. And everything I need was sent to my email. Fantastic experience, would recommend to anyone needing an appraisal!

    Auto Appraisal for Charitable Donation

  • My daughter had purchased a very collectible 2003 Mustang Cobra terminator just 3 months before her accident with 50,000 miles on it, for 30,000 dollars. We were experiencing some very heavy rains and she hydroplaned and smashed into a guard rail and totaled her car. The insurance company offered her $18,000, but we told them that was an insult to this car. We kept going round and round with them but they were not budging. Finally we googled an independent appraiser and found AppraiseItNow! Their appraised value was 26,462. They negotiated with the insurance for us and we ended up with 25,900. They were awesome and helped us get much closer to the appropriate value of the Cobra. Absolutely worth the price we paid. Highly recommended!

    Car Appraisal for Insurance Claim

  • These guys were phenomenal. Joe was very responsive and gave clear instructions on how to submit my information for the appraisal, which he completed in a very quick timeframe. The appraisal itself was extremely detailed and included a thorough explanation of how they arrived at the value. It came with extensive documentation, and it’s clear they did a significant amount of research. They were also very responsive through text and email and always available to answer any questions. I had them appraise my fifth-wheel RV for resale, and I highly recommend their services. I will definitely use them again.

Recreational Vehicle Appraisal for Insurance Coverage

  • I was in dire need of an appraisal for my father's mobile home, which he needed for Medicaid approval. I couldn’t find anyone to do it for a long time, but then I found this company online and decided to give them a try. I’m so glad I did. They were wonderful to work with. I sent the pictures, and within just a few days I received the appraisal. They are absolutely worth the money.

    Mobile Home Appraisal

  • They appraised an older trailer for me that required a bonded title. They were great with communication and it only took about 2 weeks to get a very nice detailed appraisal report, which finding comps for older trailers is not straight forward. Highly recommend!

  • We were amazed at their professionalism in working with us and the quality of the final appraisal report. And all for thousands less than other appraisers.

Frequently Asked Questions on California Auto Appraisers

How is a semi truck valued in California?

By triangulating a commercial truck guide baseline, such as Price Digests or the NADA Commercial Truck Guide, against current dealer listings and recent auction results for the same spec, then adjusting for mileage, engine and transmission, emissions equipment, and maintenance records. Emissions configuration matters particularly for trucks operating in California.

Which value standard should a truck appraisal state?

Whichever matches the assignment, stated explicitly. Retail, private-party, trade-in, auction, and actual cash value can differ by thousands of dollars on the same tractor, and lenders, insurers, and courts do not use the same standard, so an unlabeled number is a vulnerable number.

What happens to a truck or fleet when a California owner dies?

It gets inventoried and appraised. California probate requires an Inventory and Appraisal of estate property within four months after letters issue, at date-of-death fair market value; California imposes no state estate or inheritance tax, so values feed probate and any federal estate filing.

Why can a pre-2010 semi truck be close to unsellable in California?

Because it cannot be registered here. Under the Air Resources Board Truck and Bus regulation, since January 1, 2023 diesel vehicles rated over 14,000 pounds operating in California must have a 2010 or newer engine and emission system, subject to limited exceptions, and noncompliant units are blocked from DMV registration. Demand shifts to out-of-state and off-highway buyers, so engine model year can move value more than mileage does.

Does a carrier’s operating authority affect what its trucks are worth?

In a going-concern sale it can. California requires carriers hauling property to hold a Motor Carrier Permit tied to a CHP carrier identification number, with proof of liability insurance and workers’ compensation before the permit issues, and permits run in 12-month terms. Permit status, insurance levels, and safety history affect how readily a fleet can keep operating after a transfer, so we account for them when trucks are valued as part of a business.
