Treating high online asking prices, forum anecdotes, or a single book figure as market value. Asking prices only matter when supported by closed transactions, so Arkansas collections end up insured at inflated replacement numbers or sold below fair market value when owners skip documented condition and real auction results.
Dramatically. An appraisal based on completed sales of comparable firearms gives the court a defensible number for the collection.
